This tall tabletop display case is quite old, more than likely manufactured between 1905 and 1912. It was originally designed to hold delicate valuables such as jewelry and watches, as well as their accessories. There are two sections, both accessed by the double doors that open the length of the case on the back.
The top section is mostly a slender rectangular shape with a peaked glass roof. It is separated from the bottom by a clear glass shelf and there is a removable glass shelf the bisects the top section. The bottom is an abbreviated D-shaped with a curved glass front and gorgeous blue felt velvet lining the bottom.
The back doors sweep out even the back of the case when opened and are latched with a bar across the center of the doors and another at the top to keep them flush when closed. The case is made of oak but is lined in bronze and plated with a shiny nickel. All of the glass is original including the single removable shelf. This piece is in good condition although there are signs of age and use related wear to the nickel-plate, the wood, and some very mild staining to the blue liner. There is a demilune crack in the glass in one of the panes on the upper section and it looks like there have been repairs to the wood of the doors. The piece measures in total 40" high, 31" wide, 28 deep. The top alone measures 27 1/2 high. 31" wide, and 14" deep while the bottom measures 12" high, 31" wide, and 27 1/2 deep. This entire case is a single piece and weighs approximately 35-40 lbs. Please consult images and message with any questions. Please message with your zip code.
